2 min read May 2023 — With origins dating as far back as 1868 as a time to decorate the graves of those who died in the war with flowers, Memorial Day is a long-held time of remembrance for the United States. While millions of people will visit cemeteries to honor their loved ones who served, there are several events to enjoy in South Florida over the holiday weekend. (Just be mindful of the traffic as always.)

Hyundai Air & Sea Show at Lummus Park in South Beach

The staple of Memorial Day Weekend in Miami is the Air & Sea Show at Lummus Park in South Beach. This massive show features lots of live entertainment, including top list musical acts. The two-day event takes place Saturday and Sunday, presenting a patriotic concert right on Miami Beach and flyovers by fighter jets and bombers. The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and local police officers, firefighters and first responders will contribute to the show. The event will also feature powerboat racing, water sports activities, motocross, sand sculptures, kids activities and acrobatics.
