Invest: San Antonio 20222 min read  February 2022San Antonio is poised for economic growth as it continues to prove itself as one of the most resilient and innovative markets for businesses both big and small. The near-term horizon and the region’s long-term strategies to ensure success will be the focal points of the official Invest: San Antonio 2022 Launch Conference on Wednesday, March 2, hosted by media platform Capital Analytics.

The event, via Zoom webinar and starting at 11 a.m., will feature an opening keynote speech by city of San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, while prominent business leaders will drive two robust panel discussions.

“We are so excited to release our inaugural edition of Invest: San Antonio, a fascinating and innovative market that we’ve learned so much about. While the Alamo City needs no introduction, we’re excited to use our accessible and in-depth business intelligence to help tell the story of a robust, resilient and responsive market that rises to meet any challenge it faces,” said Capital Analytics President and CEO Abby Melone, who will present the conference’s opening speech.

Invest: San Antonio 2022 provides a comprehensive view of the region’s economic potential and the challenges accompanying that potential from the perspective of approximately 200 local business and organization leaders and elected officials.

This year’s report focuses on the region’s key industries, including healthcare, finance, logistics, construction, real estate and tourism, while considering the impact of and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. San Antonio has weathered economic downturns before and has come out stronger each time, due in part to hosting the headquarters of three Fortune 500 companies that buoy industries across the region and create the bulwark to withstand even a global pandemic.

The first panel of the conference, “The Partnership Principle: Why collaboration will be key for the future of higher education,” will explore the relationship between San Antonio’s higher educational institutions and the local business community. Texas A&M University President Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson will moderate the panel discussion, which features speakers Dr. Taylor Eighmy, president of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Dr. Thomas Evans, president of the University of the Incarnate Word, and Dr. Danny Anderson, president of Trinity University.

The second panel, “Creativity vs. Innovation: The difference is taking action,” will examine the process of bringing creativity to life. Moderated by Elizabeth Crawford, the CEO of Sendero Wealth Management and Sendero Family Enterprise, panelists will include Vantage Bank Texas CEO Jeff Sinnott, alongside George Hernandez, president and CEO of University Health, and Rick Archer, founding principal of Overland Partners.

More than 500 San Antonio regional leaders are expected to attend the digital conference. Click here to register.
