Invest: Pittsburgh leadership summit to highlight industry growth and investment

2 min read February 2023 — Southwestern PA has been building momentum as companies continue to expand their operations in the region. Growth, quality of life and greater investments in infrastructure and technology are central themes running through the second annual edition of Capital Analytics Associates’ Invest: Pittsburgh. The official Invest: Pittsburgh 2022-2023 Launch Conference will take place on March 23 from 8-11.30am at the Cambria Hotel Pittsburgh Downtown — next door to the PPG Paints Arena.

During the launch of Invest: Pittsburgh 2022-2023, local industry and community leaders will come together to discuss the region’s business climate and how they are leveraging its inherent economic strengths to ensure long-term prosperity for all. The event will feature three panel discussions that will center on the local market’s healthcare and higher education ecosystem, developing in a smart and sustainable way and relationship building between financial institutions and customers.

“We are looking forward to celebrating the release of our second edition of Invest: Pittsburgh, this time live and in person, to showcase the leaders adding to the region’s long-standing reputation for work ethic and collaboration,” Capital Analytics’ President and CEO Abby Melone said. “Few companies deliver the in-depth business analysis we do for the markets we cover, including Pittsburgh. Check-in at the conference will begin at 8 a.m. with a breakfast networking hour. The opening remarks will begin at 9 a.m., followed by an opening keynote speech. This will be succeeded by three robust panel discussions.

The first panel, Healthy economy: How healthcare and higher ed are key to Pittsburgh’s growing innovation economy, will feature Kevin Snider, chancellor at Penn State, New Kensington, Paul Marden, CEO of New Jersey, Pennsylvania & Delaware at UnitedHealthcare and Mary Finger, president of Seton Hill University. The panel will be moderated by Lary Keyler, office managing partner at RSM.

The second panel, Built to last: How evolving building materials, tech and design are positioning Pittsburgh for a smarter, sustainable future, will include Carlin Campbell, PWCampbell Principal and COO, Amanda Markovic, market design leader, community development at GBBN, Sharon Novak, CEO of Shikun & Binui USA (S&B USA) and Dean Welch, vice president, Pittsburgh operations at McCaffery.

The final panel, Digital handshake: Growing relationships and building community in an increasingly digital financial world, will feature Daniel Moon, CEO of SSB Bank and Tony Rocco, President – WPA Market at WesBanco Bank, Inc. The panel will be moderated by Capital Analytics Regional Editor Ryan Gandolfo.
