2 min read October 2021 — From beers and potions to tricks and treats, scary sounds and even dogs in costume, these events throughout Jacksonville will be “spooktacular” all week long.

Halloweek in #DTJax Presented by Live Oak Contracting

Don’t miss out on this year’s scariest event in Downtown Jacksonville. Halloweek, which will be presented by Live Oak Contracting, is taking place during the last week of October (Oct. 25-29) and will be filled with all things goulish. This year’s event will feature a Halloween Hunt, which will begin on Monday, Oct. 25, where the first 100 players to hunt and gather QR codes from 10 participating businesses using the Eventzee App will receive a $20 DTJax e-Gift Card redeemable at 30-plus Downtown businesses. There will also be a Haunted Windows Halloween Hunt, which will feature participating businesses in Downtown Jacksonville that will be getting into the Halloween spirit by decorating their storefronts to create additional spooky instagram opportunities. The main event for this year is the new “Spooky SZN” Selfie Spots at James Weldon Johnson Park, which will showcase spooky Halloween characters all week long.

halloweenArf Barket Spooktacular at RAM 

On Oct. 30, stop by Riverside Arts Market for the fan favorite Arf Barket Spooktacular. Hosted by Happy Hound Dog Resorts, this event will feature a dog costume contest for canine fans of all ages. There will also be a pet adoption event by Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) with dog treats and more. Costumes are strongly encouraged for humans and dogs alike. halloweenHallow’s Eve at JWJ 

On Oct. 30, Friends of James Weldon Johnson Park presents Hallow’s Eve, a Frightfully Funky Festival. The festival will feature spooky décor, costumes and tricks and treats for kids of all ages. Asheville’s Appalachian Funk band, Dr. Bacon as well as St. Augustine’s Stephen Pigman Vibrations are on the musical lineup. Entry is free and drinks will be available for purchase. A limited number of VIP Tickets are available for $25, including two drink tickets for beer or wine. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. With limited general seating guests are also encouraged to bring their own chairs to the dog-friendly festival.

halloweenAll Them Witches at Intuition 

Flying Saucer Presents a night to remember with All Them Witches. The Nashville trio will be playing songs from their new release, Nothing as the Ideal, at Intuition on Friday, Oct. 29. Since 2012, the band has six records to its name and Nothing as the Ideal is touted as its most experimental so far. All Them Witches features guitarist Ben McLeod, vocalist Charles Michael Parks and drummer Robby Staebler.
