2 min read April 2023 — This week will see a mix of bright colors, matzah, hard boiled eggs, traditional dinners, easter egg hunts and chocolate – lots of chocolate. As the festivities for Passover and Easter begin, Invest: explores some of the biggest events and best ways to celebrate this holiday week in Miami. 

Egg-Venture at Zoo Miami

For those who enjoy a little fun and games with their Easter festivities, Zoo Miami’s Egg-Venture 2023 has them covered. This event features a virtual scavenger hunt at the park using the Eventzee mobile app. Using the app, Zoo Miami guests will be provided with clues to find 12 eggs hidden throughout the park’s walkways. At the end, guests can redeem their prize of treat-filled eco-friendly eggs. There is a limit to one prize per device, and the prizes will be given out only while supplies last. Egg-venture is included with the price of zoo admission.

Pesach Seder

The eight days of Passover begin tonight at Chabad Chayil. Morning and evening services will include traditional customs and foods in celebration of the holiday. The first two nights will include the Seder, which includes matzah, wine, singing and recounting the story of the Exodus. Those interested are asked to register online as space is limited.

Glow In The Dark Easter Egg Hunt

It’s an Easter Egg Hunt with a twist. Presented by Tinez Farms, children can enjoy a fun-filled Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt Saturday evening, April 8. The event starts at 5:00PM with ongoing Egg Hunts once the sun sets. Tickets include entrance to the farm, access to the animal barnyard, a walk through the garden maze, yard games, playtime in the bounce house, the farm’s Bubble tubing slide, live music, kids activities, zip line, photo ops with the Easter Bunny and an easter egg hunt with an average of 10 to 12 eggs per child. Advance online purchase is highly recommended as a limited number of tickets are available for the event.

Easter Run For Hope

For those who prefer to take holidays and celebrations as an opportunity to give back, there is the Easter Run for Hope. For every registration for the run, a tree will be planted by ‘One Tree Planted’. Beginning in Downtown Miami, participants will pass by some of Miami’s landmarks and popular neighborhoods. The run is capped at 15 participants per wave.

The Little Farm Egg Hunt

For an up close and personal experience, head to The Little Farm in South Dade. From a butterfly garden to an apiary filled with gentle honeybees, there’s no shortage of engaging activities for children. Guests can take pictures with the Easter Bunny, then join the Easter Egg Hunt where children will receive an Easter basket to search for eggs. Guests can also tour the 10-acre farm, enjoying pony rides and feeding the animals. This event is by reservation only.

YJP Miami – Passover Seder (1st Night of Passover)

Those looking for a community seder with a youthful vibe can join the Young Jewish Professionals at the Rok Family Shul Community Seder. Guests can connect over a four-course Seder and an overstocked selection of wine tonight at 7:30PM. There will be no tickets at the door, those interested are encouraged to reserve a spot now.

City of Hialeah Eggstravaganza

Milander Park serves as the host for the City of Hialeah’s Eggstravaganza, one of the largest egg hunts in the region with more than 50,000 eggs. The event will also include live entertainment, rides and interactive inflatables, and pictures with the Easter Bunny. 

Tickets start at $6 for the egg hunt and also for photos by the bunny, $15 for rides and $18 for an all access wristband.

Easter At The Garden

Ready to unwind from it all? Dance NOW! Miami will present a special Easter open air performance Sunday at Miami Beach Botanical Garden. This celebration of the arts will be held in collaboration with the South Beach Chamber Ensemble and will feature actor Susie K. Taylor. This event is free and open to the public, but guests are asked to register to reserve a space.
