City of Atlanta COO Richard Cox will give the keynote address at the launch of Capital Analytics’ second publication focusing on Metro Atlanta
Metro Atlanta’s robust healthcare industry, booming tech sector and the city’s navigation of the new tax overhaul are just some of the focal points in the second edition of Focus: Atlanta from Capital Analytics. The 2019 edition also broadens its focus to cover DeKalb, Gwinnett and Clayton counties, as well as the dynamic Aerotropolis.
Real estate remains a main discussion point, as the industry is experiencing increased interest from investors both domestically and abroad, particularly in the multifamily housing market. Utilities and infrastructure are covered in detail as the city looks to alternative sources of energy to sustainably grow and develop. Transportation, aviation and logistics are also analyzed, as they continue to be major drivers in the area, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport maintaining its status at the busiest airport in the world. The publication from Capital Analytics is a 192-page economic analysis that highlights business opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs and innovators alike looking to Metro Atlanta for opportunities.
The official launch of the publication will take place on December 18, 2018, at the Woodruff Arts Center. Following a short networking breakfast, Richard Cox, COO of the City of Atlanta, will give a keynote address that underscores some of the major achievements of Atlanta’s economy over the past 12 months. This will be followed by three panels discussing some of the key issues currently facing the area.
The panels will address major themes currently dominating Atlanta’s economy. Topics of discussion will focus on technology, healthcare and tax overhaul. The “Healthcare 2020” panel will be moderated by Ted Blum of Greenberg Traurig. Panelists will be Bryan Ginn Jr. of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Jeff Fusile of Anthem BlueCross BlueShield Georgia and Dr. Jim Sams of Privia Medical Group – Georgia. The “Innovation: Taking Atlanta to New Heights” panel will be moderated by Chad Gregory of Region Bank. Panelists will be Gautam Vyas of FIS Global, Shannon James of the Aerotropolis and Jimmy Etheredge of Accenture. The “Tax Overhaul and Its Effect on Your Business” panel will have a special Q&A format, and panelists will be James Gnefkow of Peachtree Planning and Adrienne J. Figur of EY.
The event will be attended by hundreds of high-level guests and officials from some of Atlanta’s key industries and economic institutions.
“Following the successful first edition of Focus: Atlanta, we wanted to expand our coverage to include the dynamic counties that help make Atlanta such a global powerhouse. The entire metro area offers a range of opportunities for businesses and residents alike with its amazing geography and superior transport connections. We see a great deal of commitment to development across all economic sectors,” said Abby Melone, president of Capital Analytics.
