If what brings you happiness are events with live music, lights, and a great vibe, then here are Invest:’s suggestions on what to do this holiday season in the North Jersey region.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra: Christmas Eve and Other Stories

This classic Christmas show has been around for over 20 years and has been delighting audiences across the country. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra is world-renowned for its elaborate shows, which include lasers, fog machines, and special lights. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the album from which the show is named, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, has sold over 3.4 million copies, making it one of the Top 10 most successful Christmas/holiday albums in the United States. While the band is on the heavier side of music, combining metal with classical music, they have remained a top act in their genre for over 20 years.  Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be playing on Dec. 22, 2021, at 3:00 pm, and on Dec 22, 2021, at 6:00 pm. Tickets prices range from $44 all the way to $240 for the front row, and can purchased here.

Marie Osmond’s Magical Symphonic Christmas Tour at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

If you prefer concerts on the more traditional side, this is the perfect concert to listen to classic Holiday songs. You may recognize this artist for her debut song “Paper Roses,” which reached the #1 spot on two Billboard charts and made her an international superstar. Marie Osmond has been in the spotlight for over five decades and residents of North Jersey will be able to see her live for an iconic show this December. The Magical Symphonic Christmas Tour will have two showings, one on Friday, Dec. 10, at 8:00 pm, and the other one on Saturday, Dec. 11, also beginning at 8:00 pm.  Tickets are on sale, ranging from $79 all the way to $120 for front-row seats. Christmas Con at the New Jersey Expo Center

A Christmas Con is the perfect place to feel, see, and be immersed in all things Christmas. Christmas Con at the New Jersey Expo Center will host a plethora of famous guests including Jonathan Bennett, also known as Aaron from Mean Girls, and Melissa Joan Hart, also known as Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Guests will be able to take pictures with these famous faces and ask for autographs while shopping around for last-minute decorations or gifts. The event is open from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, Dec. 10, and from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 11, and Sunday, Dec. 12. Tickets go from $79 for single-day general admission to $279 for a VIP weekend pass. 

Bollywood-Punjabi NYE Cruise with Fireworks show at the Hudson River

If celebrating New Year’s eve outside in the cold is not an option, but being in a heated, luxury boat is, this event is perfect. Bollywood-Punjabi NYE Cruise features a multi-level, starship yacht departing from 401 Riverview Drive, Perth Amboy, NJ at 10:00 pm Dec. 31, 2021, and returning back on Jan. 1, 2022 at 1:30 am. Guests will be able to enjoy complimentary Indian food and party favors, top-notch cocktails at the two fully-staffed bars, and the always amazing NYC Harbor fireworks show. There will also be a live Top Indian DJ mixing all the Punjabi and Bollywood hits. Tickets start at $65 and can be purchased here.
