 Job Description – Executive Director

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee development for a new market
  • Produce annual business guide through selling sponsorship opportunities to CEOs and senior management
  • After initial event training, manage our strategic sales cycles while continually focusing on client goals and company success metrics
  • Lead generation through warm calls, cold calls, emails, networking events, follow-up, meetings and closes
  • Understand what is happening in the marketplace at all times and how to deliver appropriate proposals to clients
  • Become an expert at selling Capital Analytics’ products and manage the growth and development of several strategic relationships with clients and organizations
  • Assist national sales team when needed in local market initiatives
  • Continue to build a book of business by consistently gathering leads based on information from events, direct mail responses, business directories, websites and other sources
  • Perform monthly sales goal and company initiatives
  • Travel to metro areas within assigned territory to meet with prospective clients; travel to and attend events
  • Overcome technical and business objections of prospective clients
  • Emphasize salable features, quote prices and credit terms to prospective customers
  • Maintain contact information and sales activities by creating and updating internal records in Insightly
  • Investigate and resolve client concerns
  • Produce the annual launch conference with direction and guidance from HQ

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years of sales experience
  • Driver’s license
  • Ability to travel to/from meetings and events
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Self-motivated go-getter in an ever-changing advertising industry

Job Description:

The Journalist/Content Manager  (JCM) is responsible for conducting all interviews in a given market, as well as serving as the on-the-ground liaison for the Managing Editor. The JCM is also responsible for the collation of certain editorial material (interviews, viewpoints and photographs), as well as assisting with freelance analysts. The JCM also supervises the in-market chapter-checking process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedules interviews by reaching out via phone with leading CEOs and attends those meetings each week (approx. 10-15 meetings/week depending on time of the project)
  • Conduct market research
  • Research all companies and prepare questions in advance for the informative discussions and interviews
  • Recommend potential viewpoints and interviews to the head office editorial staff
  • Call to set meetings with C-level executives
  • Conduct and report on all interviews
  • Obtain approval for all local published viewpoints and interviews or market-sensitive material
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with the government, partners, and local authorities
  • Record and transmit all relevant informative discussions
  • Pull quotes from transcripts or soft edit fully published interviews
  • Attend conferences, networking and business functions
  • Assist in organizing the publication’s launch conference and in ensuring top-level speakers, attendance and press coverage
  • Assist with the PR operations in the market
  • Maintain social media in market via tweeting about meetings, conferences attended and major market developments

Covering leading market trends, the publication conducts a deep dive into the top economic sectors in Greater Miami, including real estate, banking, health, education, transportation, environment, entertainment and many others.

Duties will include producing clear, concise, current and factually accurate, well-organized, well-researched content; conducting phone interviews, as needed, as part of information gathering; and proofreading and editing for accuracy, grammar, style and tone.

Qualifications

  • Strong command of the English language, impeccable grammar and mastery of AP style
  • Sensitivity to tone and audience, and ability to discern what is current, compelling and credible

 Based: Miami, FL

  • Work hand in hand with both the Executive Director in the production of Capital Analytics publications. Be in communication via email and phone to complete daily activities.
  • Performs a variety of administration, marketing, editorial, research and support duties to coordinate the production of Capital Analytic publications.
  • May perform layout work of a detailed and complex nature, coordinates multiple production schedules and maintains printing deadlines for same.
  • Performs assignments independently, with minimal supervision as to methods, procedures and desired end results.

Typical Duties

Admin:

  • Arranges meetings with top level CEOs for the research team during research months (arrange approx 15 meetings/week)
  • Assist in expenses and expense reports
  • Oversees sales charts
  • Provide assistance of a general office nature
  • Contributes to Company’s goals by accomplishing related duties as required
    • Attend weekly meetings
    • Update Company informational systems
  • Maintains calendars, charts, reports to ensure that records are kept accurate (keeping track of all meetings of each staff, keeping the company outlook files updated, updating the barter chart and artwork collection chart weekly
  • Collects artwork from clients and submits to the head office
  • Organizes delivery of books (both to advertisers and to other contacts requested)
  • Maintains all office supplies and ensures that the office is tidy and all business cards organized

Marketing/PR:

  • Assists in the planning and coordination (both before and during) of the launch of Invest: publication launch conferences
