3 min read September 2021 — “Our Affiliate members know me. They trust me because I do what I say I will do. I am their advocate; they know this,” Liz Juffin told Invest: when explaining what she believes has made her successful as the Vice President of Business Development for the Broward-MIAMI Association of Realtors. She also discussed the organization’s Corporate Affiliate program and how to remain competitive in an influencer dominated marketplace.
What program that you’ve been a part of are you most proud of and why?
The Miami Association of Realtors has a vibrant Corporate Affiliate program, available to those businesses that do business with or recognize realtors as a strong referral source to their clients and customers. This program has been evolving, and pivoted seamlessly for our Affiliates during the pandemic. We added more visibility in absence of live events. We also introduced remarketing programs, virtual class and event sponsorships. Our Corporate Affiliate program actually grew over the past year and a half, in part thanks to these new initiatives and benefits offered. The real estate industry thrived, and so did our Affiliates!
In the age of influencers, what is the key to keeping business development and marketing strategies competitive?
Find, research and execute in delivering the most valuable products, services and initiatives that can pivot in times of change. Know who your audience really is and hyper market to them through strategic partnerships. This year, for me, was more about leaning into investment to grow your business, rather than opt out. Even though it sounds contrary, hard times weed out the mediocre. Stay strong in front of your clients and customers.
What is the biggest challenge you face in accomplishing your day to day?
In any partnership, and becoming an Affiliate with MIAMI is a partnership, there has to be open lines of communication and the ability to freely give and receive feedback. I have found that honesty, humility and a strong work ethic will get you to your mission and end goal. It’s easier if you have support along the way and partnership is key.
What do you believe has made you successful as the Vice President of Business Development for Broward-Miami Association of Realtors?
Our Affiliate members know me. They trust me because I do what I say I will do. I am their advocate; they know this. I communicate honestly, I ask for their input and bounce ideas I have off of them. I can recreate the wheel myself, but if it’s not valuable, why do it? I know these qualities have made me successful, but it’s the trust shown to me through referrals, renewals and testimonials that keep me going. Status quo is not in my vocabulary.
